Ways to get and keep a higher-paying job you love

Hi there!

“There’s some “buyer’s remorse” in the labor market right now. 40% of people who changed jobs in the last 12 months are actively looking for another job. There are many factors, but if you find yourself as part of the 40% here’s my advice: 1. Slow down. Big, irreversible decisions require more thought and deliberation. 2. Think long term. Go beyond covid, and think through what you want to do and where you want to be in 5-10 years. Why? because . . . 3. There are switching costs. If you have to take 30 days in between jobs, that represents over 8% of your salary. Given inflation and everything else, you better be getting a 20%+ raise to switch.”
