#63 Success Starts When You Build Your Boldness Capacity.

Hey, hey! I'm back from a little family vacation, and I'm ready to rock and roll.

While I was gone I thought a lot about how we can build our capacity to take action towards what WE want.

That can seem scary because we fear what other people will think, and we think we are RISKING a lot.

After all, if what we want is different than our peers, doesn't that make us an outsider? Weird? A loner?

We've all heard the expression “no risk no reward.”

But if you’re not learning to take risk, you’re missing out on much more:

No risk no confidence.

No risk no growth.

No risk no learning.

No risk no momentum.

No risk no change.

No risk no freedom.

No risk no happiness.

Somehow our society has stripped away our ability to do bold things.

Helicopter parents

Politicians

Professors

Bosses

“Advisors”

Counselors

They’re all well meaning, but conditioned by their own programming. Still reliant on their evolutionary brain: avoid danger at all cost.

Now, zoom in and look at that kid’s face!

This is my 10 year old son. 20 feet up in a tree.

See the smile?

See the world in front of him?

See the confidence?

In our house we teach our three boys to pursue boldness by learning to take calculated risk.

I think this is the #1 skill for them to learn for their future.

Because without their ability to assess their own comfort level, desire, future selves and make a DECISION, they are nothing.

Just meat suits waiting for others to determine their destiny.

That's the default path.

Following the default path comes at great cost. It's invisible at first, but compounds over time.

Stunted growth, separation from our dreams, bitterness and resentment about what we could have been.

What could we all be if we relinquished FEAR and created a healthy approach to taking on risk (because we can’t escape it)?

Our society is taking away the possibility set of our kids (and ourselves) of being GREAT.

Of achieving HAPPINESS.

Of feeling SOVEREIGN.

Of flying FREE and showing the world the best version of ourselves.

Of being UNBREAKABLE.

Of being able to THRIVE in any situation.

I’m not having it.

In a world and an age where we are constantly pushed to take the safe route, we need go the other way.

The counterintuitive way.

Towards the fear, by developing our capacity to be bold in a structured manner.

We choose to go the other way. Not just at home, but our community is going the other way.

I’m on a damn crusade.

To teach people that it’s possible to lean into risk and be bold.

Because we know smiles this big don’t come from playing it safe.

Smiles come from facing down the demons of uncertainty:

Procrastination

Self doubt

Timidity

Fear

What ever it is holding you back:

Plug into YOUR version of the world, and decide to become UnBREAKable today.

If you're nodding along, and this all makes sense, I'd love to see you as a member of The Break Community. It will be one of the best decisions you will make, and don't forget to use the code THEBREAK100OFF.
