COVID-19, Jobs & the Great Resignation

The Great Resignation has reached unprecedented levels. A record 4.5 million Americans quit their jobs in November, another 4.3 million quit in December and a record 10.9 million U.S. jobs have remain unfilled since September, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics report released on Feb. 19.

ADP: Employers Added 475,000 Jobs in February, Marking a Strong Rebound From January’s Unexpected Drop

Private employers made up for a weak start to the year, adding 475,000 jobs in February, payroll firm ADP reported on Tuesday. That was a rebound from the loss of 301,000 jobs in January, which followed a gain of 807,000 a month earlier. The January reading was negatively affected by the omicron variant of the coronavirus, which peaked in the middle of the month and resulted in millions of workers staying home.
